When you complete the Tell Us with Details form, it is sent directly to the Report + Support Team of Liaison Officers.

What Should I Include in the Form?

The form asks for some details about the unacceptable behaviour you’ve experienced. You are not required to share every detail - only what you feel comfortable disclosing.

What Happens After I Submit the Form?

Once submitted, a Liaison Officer will contact you via the email address you provided within 2 university working days.

We will offer to meet with you online, in person, or over the phone to discuss your disclosure. We are here to listen, support you, and help you explore your options so you can make an informed decision about what to do next.

What Is It Like to Talk to a Liaison Officer?

We understand that sharing difficult experiences can be challenging. You will always be treated with respect and compassion.

During your meeting, the Liaison Officer will guide you through your options and possible next steps. We can also connect you with internal and external support services.

We can outline both your informal and formal reporting options, including anticipated timelines and potential outcomes, to empower you to make an informed decision. A Liaison Officer will not force you to report anything, and unless there are concerns about your safety or someone else’s, everything you share will remain confidential.

Our goal is to ensure you leave the meeting with all the information you need to make the decision that’s right for you. We can remain your single point of contact if you wish, between yourself and University staff. This is to help minimise repetition of disclosure.

If you do decide to make a formal complaint, a Liaison Officer can:

  • Act as your supporting party in throughout the process, during Investigation Meetings, Student Misconduct Hearings, and appeals if you wish.
  • Help you to prepare supporting statements and the collection of evidence.
  • Ensure that you are kept up to date with the progression of your case.
  • Signpost you to relevant support services, both internal and external depending on your needs.
  • Help support you in submitting evidence for Mitigating Circumstances or extensions.
  • Arrange and accompany you to meetings with University staff, such as personal tutors, accommodation etc

Do I Have to Make a Formal Complaint?

No. You are under no obligation to make a formal report. The decision is entirely yours.

Please note: We can only investigate incidents involving individuals who are currently registered students.
